I have been to the Halfway Café restaurants hundreds of times and have always loved the atmosphere and the team style service. My wife makes fun of me because if I had my way, I would go to the Halfway Café every time I leave the house. I am not the type to call, email or write a letter to anyone good or bad regarding an experience. However, on a recent visit to the Halfway restaurant in Dedham, your team outdid itself. On Saturday, my wife and two young daughters were sitting at Table 3, (one of our favorites in the restaurant), when my daughter dropped and lost a tiny toy she had brought. It was a white one inch tall "Hello Kitty" plastic figurine that had fallen under the table. I looked pretty good for it when we were leaving the restaurant in an attempt to stave off a potential meltdown, even getting on my hands and knees and crawling under the table (which I did more subtly than it sounds). John, the manager, asked what I was looking for and assured me quite confidently that he would find the toy. I had looked pretty good and it was really small but this reassured my daughter as well and staved off the anticipated meltdown. This must have taken some effort by John and it was sure appreciated by me and my family.

I just wanted to be sure that someone recognized John for this above and beyond effort at your Dedham restaurant. Keep up the good work.

"I would like to take this opportunity to compliment you on your fine operation in Dedham.  My work brought me to the Dedham/Newton area about 2 years ago and most work days find me having lunch or dinner at the Halfway.  I have so many favorites on the menu that I can't really single one out.  The friendly neighborhood atmosphere makes me feel like a local.  I've even started using the pronoun "wicked". No operation can succeed without people and you have some of the finest in the industry.  The Halfway has truly become my own version of Cheers."
